| During our flightseeing trip over Denali National Park, Mt. McKinley, and the Alaskan Range we landed on Ruth Glacier in Denali National Park. Unfortunately, we couldn't see the peak of North America's tallest peak, Mt. McKinley, since it was in the clouds. Our plane was the four seater (seats for the pilot and 3 passengers), brown and white plane fitted with skis shown below. Ruth Glacier was covered in some fresh powder and we were advised to stay within 50 feet of the plane, so that we would not fall into one of the crevasses on the surface. Some mountain climbers were dropped off by other planes and had set up their overnight camps. It was a great experience being in such a magnificent place. |
